Africa Honeymoon; Imperative we get it right!

Africa Honeymoon

Over the last fifteen years we have arranged literally thousands of honeymoons to Africa. As one of the only companies in the world to have specialised for so long solely on Africa Safari holidays and honeymoons we are in the unique position of being able to cover the entire country and not just the commercial hotspots; we are adamant that our knowledge will provide you with the opportunity to create a honeymoon that will stand out from anything else on the market.

Why honeymoon in Africa?

People choose the continent for a number of reasons – the ease in combining first class safari with idyllic beaches, the fact that there is virtually no time difference from the UK (you can fly overnight and be on the beach or on safari by nine in the morning!) and that the continent has a vast range of exceptional accommodation in some of the most pristine and remote wilderness locations in the world.

Honeymoon Accommodation

The accommodations throughout the continent range from extraordinary colonial hotels with palatial suites to small five roomed luxury tented camps; there is something for every taste. Have a look at Chiawa's honeymoon suites in Zambia, Ras Kutani's suites on the mainland Tanzania Coast, Tongabezi's Tree House at Victoria Falls to give you a slight inkling of what we mean

Safari Romance

Africa has numerous remote and pristine wilderness locations where romantic lodges are tucked away in private reserves away from the crowds. There are a number across Africa that really stand out from the crowd; Quilalea and Vamizi in Mozambique, Selous Safari Camp and Ngorongoro Crater Lodge in Tanzania, Mchenja and Shumba in Zambia, Kings Pool and Little Vumbura in Botswana....the list goes on. Talk to us and ask where we'd go!

Honeymoon Surprises

The right lodges take special care of honeymooners; private surprise dinners, honeymoon suites, champagne breakfasts in the bush or on a deserted island overlooking Victoria Falls....there are so many incredible things we can arrange. For the majority though, telling you what they do would spoil the surprise!

Privacy

For those of you who want utter privacey there are many elegant, small lodges that offer a private and personal feeling well away from other tourists. Alternatively we can arrange privately guided trips throught the continent that give you Africa all to yourself

Perfect Weather for Honeymoons!

The weather between May and October (which is when most couples seem to get married) is hot, dry and low in humidity and fantastic for game throughout Africa.

Our Goal

It is our goal to ensure that your Africa honeymoon stands out from anything else on the market. Come in and meet with us in our offices in London for a private presentation.

We have spent years designing honeymoons and can talk you through all your options, making the first steps in designing an itinerary that gets exactly what you want. Please contact us if you would like to arrange a time to come in for a chat.

If this is not possible then we can talk you through and advise on any itinerary over the phone. The key is to talk to us so we can understand exactly what you want and what you expect; the more we talk, the more personalized your trip becomes and ultimately, the better your honeymoon becomes.

To give you an idea of the highlights throughout Africa and times of year to visit…..

Tanzania Honeymoon

Very much a honeymoon destination! The Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater are exceptional throughout the year although the rainy months of April, May and to an extent November are best avoided. The Southern Parks which are ultimately geared more to honeymooners (as the parks are more private) are superb in August, September and October. Zanzibar is incredible throughout but best avoided over the rains. It is the close proximity of prolific big game to stunning beaches that make Tanzania one of the best choices for honeymooners. Botswana Honeymoon

Although Botswana is the most expensive safari market is does provide an unbelievable level of privacy and exclusivity. With a quality of lodge that any honeymooner would dream of this is a stunning honeymoon country. However it is exceptionally pricey and if the top lodges cannot be afforded then other countries do offer better value. Much of Botswana is at its best at the end of the dry season ie July, August and September. The Okavango however comes into flood from May onwards, has great game and looks beautiful for the entire year. This is also the country for the best horseriding safaris. Zambia Honeymoon

The shortest safari calendar in Africa and the fact that even with its recent emergence as a quality safari destination, Zambia remains a connoisseurs destination meaning the country is a destination for ‘adventure’ honeymooners. Walking safaris is the essence of Zambia and not what everyone on honeymoon wants to be doing! There are however some stunning lodges throughout the country and for those of us wanting something off the mainstream then Zambia is certainly an option….although only from June to October. Kenya Honeymoon

With a very similar climate to Tanzania, close proximity to superb beaches and an incredible diversity of top lodges Kenya rivals Tanzania for the accolade of top Honeymoon and Beach destination. The Masai Mara is superb in August, September and October but does suffer from massive tourist numbers and for those of us looking to escape the crowds then Kenya is probably last on the list of choices from then big safari destinations. However travel further away from Kenya’s famous parks and there are some beautiful unspoilt locations; the Laikipia for example is just stunning. Mozambique Honeymoon

The home of Africa’s finest beach lodges. The Quirimbas Archipelago in Northern Mozambique is miles from anywhere, costs to get to but the reward is Africa’s most remote islands and untouched beaches. This is the ultimate area for honeymoon beach breaks. Bazaruto in the South is also stunning but is logistically a nightmare to include with East Africa therefore meaning it combines with Botswana, South Africa and to an extent Zambia.
